SEF Goals for the 2006-2007 School Year include:
Continuing
support for Teacher Mini-grants
These grants have paid for
enrichment programs: Middle School service Learning, High School
Biology, Elementary school History and Character Development
To Enhance Music Programs at all the
Town’s Schools
A number of concerts in the
summer of 2006 raised some $11,500 for Stonington music students. SEF
will continue this effort to raise more money for music during the 2006
– 2007 school year.
Increasing the SEF endowment
Our endowment will ensure a
permanent legacy for Stonington students.
Completing Fundraising For a
Student-Community Technology Center at Stonington High School
SEF is continuing to raise
money to buy computers and other technology to outfit a distance
learning center to open up global experiences for our students and
community members.
Expanding Our Community Outreach
SEF is striving to be more
proactive in reaching out to the community and providing help for
projects that benefit our children in many ways. In the 2005-2006 school
year, SEF established a community outreach fund that is separate from
its Apple and Mini grants. It provided an initial $1,000 to two high
school booster groups from this fund.
Completing the Stonington
High School technology fundraiser that would establish a distance
learning center there. The fundraiser is currently about half-way to its
goal.
